About Me
My name is Rozalia Singh aka Aya. I began drawing from a very young age. My father, Reynaldo Hernandez, is my mentor. Growing up he was especially tough on me when it came to art. I'm grateful to him as I have gained a keen eye and learned many tricks of the trade.
I have my Bachelors Degree of Fine Arts in Visual Communications from The Illinois Institute of Art.
My work includes indoor and outdoor murals in the Milwaukee area. I'm working as a professional caricaturist for over 20 years in the Wisconsin and Illinois area. I've also illustrated an amazing children's book called "I am a girl of color," with author Deanna Singh.
My mural work has been featured in Milwaukee Life-style Magazine, The Milwaukee Journal, Channel 58, The Milwaukee News Service, Urban Milwaukee and The Milwaukee Independent.
My personal work is a reflection of my experiences as a women of color and as a mother. The nature aspect of my work is rooted in my ancestral connection to life and creation. I seek to promote diversity and growth in the community. I continue to evolve and develop my creativity. Art for me is not just an outlet, its my passion.
